About Tollan
Who runs the service, and why it exists.
Who runs it
Tollan is built and run by Applied AI EdgeTech Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company no. 671821) and based in Limerick. The same company is the contracting party in the Terms and the data controller in the Privacy Policy. The service is hosted in the EU.
Why Tollan exists
Devices that need looking after rarely sit on a network you control: a gateway in a customer's plant, a Raspberry Pi behind a mobile router, a sensor board on someone else's Wi-Fi. Reaching them usually means forwarding a port, which puts the device in front of the whole internet, or a VPN, which puts the whole network in reach of whoever holds the profile.
Tollan takes a narrower path. Each device gets its own identity and dials out, and you publish exactly the one service you need, at its own HTTPS address. It works the same way on a Linux gateway and on an ESP32, so the smallest boards in a fleet don't need a separate box in front of them.
How to check what we say
- The security page lists what the relay can and cannot see, how long data is kept, and who processes it for us.
- The status page checks the console, device connections and the docs live from your browser.
- The documentation explains how devices, routes and access rules work.
